This week Roland Dransfield scored a Best Sports Campaign shortlisting for the Northern Marketing Awards 2018.
After beginning work with University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) to promote their brand and handle media relations, we discovered that their latest venture – The Walking Football Association (WFA) – had officially kicked off.
The WFA had become the national governing body for Walking Football, and UCFB were also organising both the Walking Football European Championship and World Cup. In a run of the mill interview with UCFB undergraduate, Paul Carr, it came to light that none other than Tommy Charlton, brother of World Cup winners Bobby and Jack, was trying out for the team.
This nugget of information turned into a campaign targeting the global media and achieved a total of over 100 pieces of coverage and a reach of more than 816 million people.
